The storm didn't come in as strong as we thought - we have just had some clouds and foehn wind yesterday, and mainly sunshine with some clouds today. It is nice and warm in the Chamonix valley, with some excellent spring skiing in the mountains.
Up at Le Tour today, there was a bit of wind in some parts, but where it was sheltered, it was very pleasant, with not many people around. The visibility stayed very good, and the snow was soft and forgiving, especially on the newly groomed pistes.
Off-piste, the snow is a bit sticky, as it hasn't been freezing much overnight recently, at mid-mountain, anyway. The high mountain conditions are quite different, with colder snow away from the direct sunshine, mostly pretty wind-blown.
The rest of the Chamonix valley has great snow above 2000m, as well as a couple of pistes that are still good to the valley bottom, and it looks like Courmayeur is still in good shape, in the upper mountain - great for a day trip from Chamonix.
As for the weather, it seems a bit unstable the next few days, but warm, with similar conditions. There may be some snow showers in the mountains soon, but we will have to see.
