The ski resorts of Courmayeur Mont Blanc and Aosta Valley have a variety of pistes for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. For freeride lovers, there are stunning off-piste terrain which can be reached from the peaks of the ski areas.
There are five major ski areas located around the highest of the mountains in the Italian Alps: Courmayeur, La Thuile, Pila, Monterosa ski and Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche.
In Courmayeur, beginners have wide tracks at their disposal. For intermediate skiers there are really excellent open spaces and tests routes. Expert skiers will probably want to descend the steep trail of Mont Blanc, the famous off-piste Vallée Blanche is 20km long, that ends in Chamonix. There is also a vertical descent of 2000 meters, from Helbronner to La Palud, that continues along the Toula Glacier, that experts skiers will enjoy. We highly recommend hiring a guide for all your off-piste skiing.
Hire a ski instructor or enrol in one of the ski schools in the area, find the best places for beginners and intermediate skiers, where to find fresh pistes for off-piste enthusiasts, where to rent skis and snowboard equipment or buy some sports clothes.
