A beautiful mountain village located in the Aosta Valley within the Gran Paradiso National Park. Cogne is an ideal getaway for a relaxing winter holiday with a variety of leisure activities, excellent accommodation, amazing restaurants and superb scenery.
Cross Country Skiing: Cogne is known in the Aosta Valley for its cross country skiing reputation with about 80km of extensive and varied scenic trails winding under the peaks of the Grivola and the Gran Paradiso.
Every year Cogne hosts the international cross country ski race, the 45km Marciagranparadiso, which usually takes place on the second Sunday in February.
Ice Climbing: Cogne is also well known for its ice-climbing. Ice-climbing schools and private alpine guides are available for all levels of abilty and experience. The two valleys of Valnontey and Valeille are lined with long, thick ice falls.
