The beautiful Monte Rosa mountain reaches a height of 4,634m and Monte Rosa massif is surrounded by most of the 4,000m peaks of the Alps and shares the border with Italy and Switzerland.
If you love hiking then this is a must! The Tour de Monte Rosa is one of the classic alpine hikes / treks in Italy and Switzerland - a challenging tour beneath the alpine giants!
Beginning in Cervinia and ends in Zermatt - Switzerland, this route dips into the Aosta and Piemonte regions of northern Italy, travelling on ancient paths, through meadows, pine forests and hidden valleys, circling into Switzerland and the western Valais and into Zermatt.
In terms of climbing, the course is not difficult, but it's physically very demanding due to the high altitude, most days reaching 4,000m altitude. There are refuges along the way to overnight (reservations required during the busy summer periods).
The Monte Rosa Tour usually takes about 10 days.
